The legal community converged on the Madeleine Parish last Saturday for the annual Race for Justice. It was a full day of community events that brought together attorneys, judges, administrators, volunteers, and kids of all ages. The day’s festivities were highlighted by a 5K run/walk, a kid’s fun run, and a beer–and–pizza brunch. The event is an annual fundraiser for the St. Andrew Legal Clinic and Goldberg Jones is a proud sponsor once again.
The money raised from the festivities will support the important work of the St. Andrew Legal Clinic (SALC). SALC provides legal services to low income people needing assistance with family law matters. The clinic is a vital resource for protecting families from domestic violence by legal advocacy for issues of adoption, child custody and support, protection orders, guardianship, parenting time, and spousal support. The clinic has been defending Oregon’s most vulnerable families since 1979 and in 33 years has helped 48,000 Oregonians and their 75,000 children.
Goldberg Jones was represented in the 5K race and the kid’s fun run by our attorney Michael Riedel and his family. Michael joined the Goldberg Jones team in February and has been a fantastic addition to the Portland office. Michael was kind enough to share some photos of his family enjoying the event. Thank you Michael, for being the Goldberg Jones ambassador at such an important community event.
Since the inception of the race 13 years ago, the event has raised more than $1.3 million to help defend Oregon’s most vulnerable families.
